Purslane specialises in sustainably-sourced British seafood which Chef/Patron Gareth Fulford combines with a plethora of local produce to create a real treat for the taste buds. Now in its eighth year, the restaurant has amassed a steady stream of awards since it opened in 2012, including two Best Chef trophies at the Cotswold Life Food and Drink Awards.

In 2018 it made the Top 12 of the UK Seafood Restaurant of the Year and has been shortlisted for a Food Award England for two years running.

The menu changes every other month to capture the flavour of the best of Britain's wild larder while it is available. Gareth uses fish caught by small, inshore day-boat fishermen who use handlines and nets off the coast of Cornwall. This ensures the seabed isn't damaged by trawling and the fish is sent to the restaurant on the same day it is landed, ensuring it can be fresh on your plate the next day.

Tierra & Mar (translating to Land & Sea) was founded by Brett and Silvia in 2017, with the idea to combine their English and Spanish backgrounds in both name and menu.

It has quickly become a Cirencester favourite, with food ranging from tapas and paella to Mediterranean twists on the classic Sunday lunch.

Brett and Silvia met while working in a variety of Michelin starred restaurants across England, Australia and Spain and have brought their skills to the Cotswolds for us to see what they can do!

They both have a love of fresh produce and all of the food suppliers that they use are based locally. Whether fresh seafood in Spain or fresh meat and vegetables reared and grown on the family smallholding near Cirencester.

Established back in 2013, at a time when Japanese fayre was still unavailable in Cheltenham, KIBOUsushi was a trailblazer; since then the menu has remained extensive and fresh but, as it's name-sake might suggest, it's not just about the sushi. The restaurant delivers delicious Japanese food, on all levels.

Particularly well re-knowned for it's homemade, flavoursome Ramen, Katsu Curries & Teriyaki, one can often see groups of Japanese sitting in the window, enjoying a taste of home and many a Gloucestershire rugby player, enjoying a handmade sushi platter. Customers can also chose from a wide selection of sake, both warm and chilled, local to exceptional, and on to an extremely comprehensive Japanese whisky menu.

The friendly staff deserve high praise too for the heartfelt welcome bestowed on all customers as they walk under the noren (traditional, Japanese fabric dividers, hung between rooms) and through the front door.

KIBOUsushi delivers a genuine experience and one that we hope customers will not forget in a hurry.
