Arlingtons is a unique restaurant, cafe, bar, live music, events and functions venue (and off-license opening soon). Food, quality drinks and service is our passion. We are able to cater for small groups to parties for up to 240 guests in The Darwin Room, Cocktail Bar, Palm Court or Gallery. All our food is freshly prepared on the premises. Come and discover our links to Queen Elizabeth 1, Charles Darwin, The Suffragettes, The American Airforce and Ballroom Dancing.
Restaurant and Cafe
Our restaurant and cafe are open daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (please check website for opening times). Our menu changes regularly and our Head Chef, Ashley Robertson, goes to great lengths to provide interesting combinations of tastes that you won't find elsewhere in Ipswich or possibly even East Anglia.
We strive to ensure that the standard of food and drink is the highest possible and with it all freshly made on the premises you can be sure that only the best and freshest ingredients are used. We even smoke our own meats and cure salmon in our own vodka, distilled to our family recipe.
Birthday Parties and Anniversaries
We have a variety of spaces for parties from 25 to 240 people. We can arrange DJ's and live entertainment from a variety of genres. Alternatively, customers can select their own playlist to play over our sound system. We provide a range of Buffets and function menus to suit every pocket. You can rest assured that your guests will be amazed at the quality of the food and service and are made to feel really welcome and special. We can keep a secret so if you want to make it a surprise, we are happy to go along with the plan.
Weddings
There is no better place to either get married or hold your wedding reception. Non-religious ceremonies can be held at Arlingtons with a lay celebrant and all the arrangements taken care of through our own wedding planner partner. Following the ceremony, the happy couple and guests can enjoy a fine dining wedding banquet and then round off the day with an evening reception for friends and acquaintances. With our late license there is no need to curtail the enjoyment and you and your guests can party until the early hours.
Charity Fundraising
Arlingtons have come up with a package for charities, schools and clubs to raise up to £ 1000 without having to do very much at all. We provide you with a gala dinner at a reduced rate and your club or organisation takes the profit from the sale of tickets. We even provide an online ticketing facility at no cost to you. All you have to do is select a date, choose the menu and promote the event to your friends, family and colleagues and then add £ 1000 to your organisation's bank account. Food choices, allergens, intolerances and payments are all taken care of by us, making the organisers task so much easier. Add an auction or raffle to the evening and raise even more money for your good cause.
Afternoon Teas
Arlingtons has revived and revamped the old fashioned traditional afternoon tea with a selection of canapé bites which provide delicious tastes to delight any palate. Freshly made cakes and mini-scones add to the feeling of something new but at the same time vested in timeless traditions. We've created a modern version of a classic and you won't find a better afternoon tea with our wide selection of loose leaf green and black teas as well as a selection of caffeine-free tisanes and teas.
Private Dining
For that very special occasion or if you just fancy a bit of privacy, The Darwin Room provides the ultimate experience. Able to hold 18 people seated for lunch or dinner, it provides a cosy and private place to enjoy each other's company. With your own dedicated server, we will look after you all the way.
Live Music
Live music is at the heart of our venue. We put on a number of live music events of different genres, from Jazz to Indie to rock and punk. Most events are free. If you do want to eat, it is usually best to book so we can reserve a good table for you. And if you are a musician in need of a place to perform, do let us know as we can provide a performance space for you free of charge. If you perform at Arlingtons then of course your photo will be placed in our Hall of Fame in The Cocktail Bar.
Art
All the art on display in The Palm Court is for sale. Please let us know if you're interested and we'll get the artist to contact you personally. All sale proceeds go to the artist. Arlingtons does not take a commission for the sale of art. If you are an artist then please contact us if you would like to display your work.
Off-license
From autumn 2019 we will be open for the sale of fine wines, spirits and beers. Please check our website for updates, opening hours and details of our carefully selected drinks.
