Hodgkinson’s Hotel and Restaurant is housed in a Grade 11 listed 4-storey Georgian townhouse dating back to 1770 and the bygone spa era when the Georgians and Victorians came to Matlock Bath and the Peak District to enjoy the spa waters, walk and enjoy the scenery.

Our 18-seater restaurant is open to both guests and the general public and provides a friendly, inviting venue for intimate celebrations and small groups or family gatherings. We do offer vegetarian options but if you do have any special dietary requirements at all please let us know ahead and Chef can make provision for you on our menu.

We are currently open for dinner or breakfast. Reservations are required.

Our evening menu is two or three course and always features classic British ingredients, all freshly prepared to create a selective and creative array of homemade dishes (£26 two course, £29 three course). A full bar including local ales and extensive wine list is also available to offer the perfect accompaniment to your meal.

Hodgkinson’s Hotel hidden gems...Our hotel boasts its own caves for the more adventurous guest to explore, which we are told originally date back to the Romans and were used by Job Hodgkinson in Victorian times to store his own locally brewed beer. Ask us and we are always happy to show you round! We also have extensive terrace gardens where you can unwind before dinner and enjoy our view over the village rooftops, river Derwent and limestone cliffs of Matlock Bath.
