Located in a stunning Grade II building, this is a hidden gem of Warrington. The food is locally sourced by chef Richard Barlow and his team. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming but the quality of the food is wonderful. This place holds special meaning for me as the building was used as a maternity home until 1982 and I was actually born there. Apparently the room where my mother and I spent our first few days together is now the bar area – very appropriate given my line of work...

A local restaurant that I frequent with family and friends. It has a chic feel to the decor and a variety of menus to suit your occasion. The food is presented in a modern, simple way so that you appreciate the flavours and taste of your meal without over-complicating the dish. The staff are always friendly and willing to help and it’s a great place to relax in the bar over a cocktail or two.

The Church GreenHigher Lane, Lymm WA13 0AP

This is set in a traditional village pub environment but with delightful gastro pub food. If you want something a bit more special you can order from their restaurant or tasting menu. The chef and his team have a real passion for what they do which shows in their food and the atmosphere they create. If you have a sweet tooth then you will enjoy their desserts!

This place has a more cosmopolitan feel. The bar downstairs serves some great pre-dinner cocktails and the restaurant upstairs is designed to give you that private dining setting. The food is exceptional and they have a good wine selection to complement your dishes. One of my favourites is the chateaubriand but be careful who you choose to share it with!

Sam’s Chop HouseBack Pool Fold, Chapel Walks, off Cross Street, Manchester M2 1HN

The decor is like stepping back into Victorian times. The food is very British and the staff are very welcoming. It’s hearty food at its best, served in a cosy environment.
