He tells us about the restaurants he frequents when his busy career allows some free time

San Carlo42 King Street West, Manchester, M3 2WY0161 834 6226This is the best Italian in town. It has a great buzz for that special evening. The service is second to none and their seared tuna with soy sauce is to die for. Always book early.

Restaurant Bar & Grill14 John Dalton Street, Manchester, M2 6JR0161 839 1999This is another popular city centre location. It’s slightly more formal and business-like than San Carlo but it offers great food with the odd healthy option! If you can, book a window table.

Mughli44 King Street, Knutsford, UK WA1601565 631010This local but trendy Indian restaurant in Knutsford has that ‘Nobu’ feel. It’s excellent Indian cuisine with that Western taste. The chicken biryani is amazing. The staff are very friendly but sometimes their limited English mean the orders can go awry!

Heddy’s100-102 Water Lane, Wilmslow, SK9 5BB01625 526 855Great Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine in Wilmslow. The mid-week menu is fantastic value and beats eating at home but it’s not good for the waistline. The very friendly, relaxed and casual atmosphere sometimes plays second fiddle to Mr Heddy’s booming voice!

Marco Polo47 Avenue de Lrins, 06590 Thoule-sur-Mer, France04 93 49 96 59This is a family-owned beach restaurant. Fresh fish is daily sourced and the water laps against the beach and rocks. There are stunning views and the restaurant rocks at night-time with Patrick, the owner, who morphs into the local DJ. Gentlemen, it’s advisable to keep your partners on a short leash.
