Venue

On the Grosvenor roundabout only five minutes from the centre. This stylish restaurant opened in September and offers a fairly priced lunch menu and a la carte. It’s open plan, with the kitchen visible to diners.

Menu

Although they serve fish, pasta and salads, if you’re not vegetarian it seems odd not to choose a steak or grill dish. To start, we shared Pulled Brisket Croquettes (£6.75) and Sticky Chipotle Chicken (£6.25). The croquettes were nice - filled with tender bourbon-flavoured brisket, but I would have liked more than two, and the chicken bites could have done with a more heat. But I was here for the mains. Miller & Carter brand themselves as a ‘unique steakhouse experience’, so I chose one of their hand-cut, 30-day aged British steaks. I opted for the Fillet 8oz (£23.50) with Mac and Cheese (£3.95) to accompany the fries and lettuce wedge that come as standard. Cooked medium-rare to perfection and seasoned beautifully, the steak cut like butter and was so tasty. My partner selected the T-Bone 16oz (£25.95), which is one side a tender fillet, the other a flavoursome sirloin, served rare with half a rack of barbecue ribs (£7.50). He said it was one of the best steaks he’d ever had.

Service

Cost
