Seven Fish is that place you’d love to call your own, open and welcoming whatever the occasion or reason to visit.

Created out of a genuine passion for good food and drink and a desire to create an environment that the owners themselves would want to drink, eat and socialise in.

“We don’t stand on ceremony, we preach casual all day drinking and dining. We like our customers to drop by on a whim, alone or with company. We’re open all day for coffee, satisfying breakfasts, elevenses, afternoon tea, cocktails, a glass or bottle of wine, even a late drink, besides lunch and dinner as substantial or modest as appetite dictates,” says David Stanton, of Seven Fish.

The menu is seafood based but not seafood exclusive featuring simply prepared ‘honest’ food. There is a wide variety of meat, ?sh, seafood, chicken, vegetarian and pasta dishes, many of which are in two sizes to suit your appetite. Seafood is exciting because it’s healthy, tastes fantastic and is simple to cook, conjuring up romantic notions of the sea, the ?shermen and bustling ports working through the night to land the catch in readiness of the morning market.

Fish and ?shing is more complicated today because we have realised that it is a ?nite resource.

It is not just about the tricky bones, freshness or cooking times. It’s understanding about the important issue of sustainability and Seven Fish has been set up to embody just that.

“We believe passionately about what we do, but we also care about the environment and want to do all that we can to ensure that all of our produce is cultivated, farmed or ?shed in accordance with strict environmental and quality guidelines, using ?sh from sustainable stocks from around the world and supporting UK farming by buying local meat and free-range poultry and eggs,” says David Stanton.

Seven Fish brings that coastal ?avour inland. With a comfy lounge and bar area and extensive patio seating (weather permitting) with views over Cowdray ruins and surrounding meadows, it’s a ‘whatever you want it to be’ kind of place. During winter months there’s a cosy log ?re in the lounge area.

The atmosphere is upbeat and casual, yet stylish in its simplicity with a relaxing approach to food and drink.

Much like an oyster, which are delivered daily and sold individually, Seven Fish is simple, fresh and delicious.
