Now five years on and The Foragers has become a cherished institution, renowned for its award winning food on a hidden away street in Hove.

In its short lifetime the pub has received various accolades and achieved a multitude of awards, which has included being thrice ?nalists at the Sussex Food & Drink Awards, and making the regional ?nals for the Good Food Guide.

Not satis?ed with local acclaim the Foragers’ team has achieved national recognition in publications such as The Observer Food Monthly, The Good Food Guide for the fourth year, reviewed in the Independent on Sunday: “I’d always hoped the mantra ‘Think global, act local’ could

be achieved by going to the pub – and now it can” and recommended by The Sunday Telegraph. So it seems only just that this little gem has been awarded its own AA Rosette.

Head Chef, Josh Kitson is just 27 years young and works with a small but enthusiastic team of ?ve to produce an outstanding seasonal menu. And no wonder, when his background comprises working for Jamie Oliver at Jamie’s, Midsummer House in Cambridge (2 Michelin Stars) and Ockenden Manor in West Sussex (1 Michelin Star).

It would be reasonable to expect the prices to re?ect the high acclaim but for the time being the menu is extremely reasonably priced especially when you consider what’s on offer.

This relaxed and welcoming pub is run by Paul Hutchison, whose hard work has turned this once neglected establishment into one of Hove’s most loved pubs.

Paul was previously general manager at award winning Koba in Brighton and a manager of London’s famous Groucho Club. Paul is delighted with how things have ?ourished at The Foragers and holds high hopes for the sister pub, The King’s Head in Lewes.
