This month sees the return of The Great Hampshire Sausage, Pie and Ready Meal Competition organised by county food group Hampshire Fare. Last year’s competition attracted 200 individual entries from 30 Hampshire butchers and livestock farmers. Categories include sausages, hot and cold pies, bacon and ready meals, which are judged by a team of professional sausage makers from across the UK and specially invited guests. The competition is sponsored by The British Pig Executive, with support from Hampshire County Council, SEEDA and Lucas Ingredients. Winners will be published at www.hampshirefare.co.uk on February 17.
