Moving house is stressful at the best of times. But then throw in a new job or perhaps a move to a new country and things could get complicated. If a business recruits from outside the region then these challenges could be familiar.

Two Cheshire businesswomen's combined experiences and talents could be the difference between a relocation that succeeds or fails. Lisa Green, director of the County Homesearch Company, realised many people need more support than simply the help to find a home. This might be assistance with school admissions, health registration, moving and settling-in, which are services offered to both private and corporate clients.

Lisa has noticed, in particular, the needs of partners wanting to re-enter the job market can be overlooked under the pressure to reach decisions and meet deadlines. To remedy this she has made links with executive search companies including Fiona Talbot of TQI Word Power Skills. Fiona, author of the Better Business English book series, is a known expert in understanding culture and communication.

Fiona has personal experiences of relocating from the UK to the Netherlands and back with her family.

She said: 'Specialists who understood the nuances of family life and the competing demands of moving into a new home, starting a new job, settling the children into new schools and learning a new language, could have made our move abroad such a different and better experience.

'The return move to Chester - then an unfamiliar part of the UK for the family - was so much smoother. Professional relocation help was engaged and the ability to fly-in and have all meetings and visits pre-arranged reduced the stress enormously.'
