Southport’s Floral Hall glittered at the Pink Tie and Diamonds Charity Evening. The popular event raised 21,700 for The Wright Appeal, a campaign to help Sally and Damien Wright give their son Sam the holiday of a lifetime. He is currently waiting for a bone marrow transplant. The couple’s daughter, Ella, tragically passed away last October, aged eight, after she had undergone a bone marrow transplant.

The charity evening, organised by Paul Hodge and Mike Wardle, included comedy sketches by Laurel and Hardy, an auction, a raffle, performances by band Souled Out and the event was hosted by local entertainers Dave Quinn and Trevor Ford. 6,000 raised on the night was donated to the Anthony Nolan Trust, a charity that helps people going through the bone marrow transplant process.
