The beautiful Hever Castle will launch snowdrop season with a talk followed by a woodland walk

On the 8th February, to honour the return of the snowdrop and the start of spring, Hever Castle will be holding a talk by award-winning garden writer Val Bourne.

The talk, titled The Wonderful World of Galanthophilia, will be followed by a self-guided walk around the snowdrops which will be carpeting the woodlands and both will be free to attend with your normal admission ticket.

Tens of thousands of snowdrops have been planted over the years. Head gardener Neil Miller says: "We have planted some exciting varieties in the last few years including Galanthus Athenae - one of the earliest to flower, usually by the end of November, Galanthus Magnet, Galanthus Viridapice and Galanthus Picatus warham."

The talk takes place on Saturday 8th February, 1pm in the Pavilion Restaurant. Snowdrop walks will take place throughout February.
