Last chance to jump in the pool for world’s biggest fundraising swim

With only three weeks left to enter Swimathon 2011, Louise Jacobs is encouraging people in Kent to sign up for a Swimathon session at their local pool and join thousands of other swimmers in the world’s biggest fundraising swim for Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Swimathon Foundation.

Over 580 pools across the UK will take part in Swimathon this April 8-10 and funds raised will allow Marie Curie Nurses to provide free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own home or in one of the charity’s hospices.

Marie Curie Fundraiser Louise Jacobs said: “There is still time for people to help make a big splash for charity by getting a place at their local pool. Swimming is a great way for people to get fit this spring and funds raised will help Marie Curie Nurses provide free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses.”

Swimathon 2011 is open to everyone, encouraging people to challenge themselves to swim 1.5k, 2.5k or the ultimate 5k. For those interested in joining forces with friends, colleagues or family, the Team 5k challenge can also be completed by up to five people together. Take the plunge and help make Swimathon 2011 a huge success.
