Homes close to national park increase in demand.
The average house price in Derbyshire rose by 7% according to figures released by the Land Registry. As of May 2017, the average house price in Derbyshire is £168,089 compared to the May 2016 figure which was calculated at £156,756.
While the two main population areas of Derby and Chesterfield saw modest growth in house prices, both still remain well below the county average at £151,642 and £147,014 respectively as of May 2017.
However, it is properties within the Peak District National Park or close to the boundaries that have seen prices rise sharply within the past twelve months. The average house price within the Derbyshire Dales is now over the quarter of a million pound mark, which is above the UK national average of £220,713.
The Derbyshire Dales district contains the popular towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock and Wirksworth, which are all popular with visitors to the Peak District.
