Hunstanton’s Glebe House School is celebrating an outstanding assessment by the Independent Schools Inspectorate

THE Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) has given Glebe House School in Hunstanton an outstanding report in its recent review of its early years provision.

Founded in 1874, the school, which currently has 174 pupils, 82 at the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) including a number with special educational needs or disabilities, received the highest rating after its inspection in December, 2015. The report concluded that “the children’s personal and emotional development is excellent. They feel safe, secure and happy”. It added that the school on Cromer Road, “demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement with all staff encouraged to evaluate and reflect on practice”. The report concludes that “outcomes for children are outstanding, with pupils making rapid progress including those with special education needs and assisted learning, and are well-prepared for the next stage of their education”.

Headmaster John Crofts says: “We are delighted with the findings of the inspectorate who support our approach to ensuring that each child reaches their full potential at this early and vital stage of their education. Our EYFS staff are passionate about tailoring every pupil’s teaching and ensuring that confidence and high levels of achievement are achieved to stand them in good stead as they advance academically and emotionally.”
