Three talented Mid Cheshire College students are excitedly looking forward to taking their places at the prestigious London College of Fashion

Three fashion students at Mid Cheshire College have landed places at the most coveted fashion college in the country, the London College of Fashion.

Sophie Rowland and Bobbie Hudson both 18 and 22year-old Ashley Lamptey were extended diploma fashion students at the college’s new Hartford fashion studios.

‘We were ecstatic when we heard we had been accepted – we could not believe we had got into the prestigious college,’ said Ashley.

London College of Fashion’s rich heritage and design practice have positioned it as a leading global provider of fashion education, research and consultancy.

Sophie, from Winsford will study a BA Hons in Styling and Photography. She explained: ‘After leaving school I started studying A levels, but it wasn’t for me. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study but knew I enjoyed fashion and fell in love with the course at Mid Cheshire. In the future, I hope to work for a fashion magazine and prepare shoots.’

Fellow students Bobbie, from Middlewich and Ashley, from Chester both want to specialise in Fashion Design Womenswear.

‘I didn’t know how to sew when I joined the course but now I have learnt so much from the tutors, I have loved everything about the course. One day I want to own my own label,’ said Bobbie.

Ashley added: ‘I have loved the freedom we are given to explore our creativity and push ourselves. After LCF, I want to continue my studies by studying an MA.’

The three of them are looking forward to life in London and will join the famous alumni including the college’s very own William Tempest, who now owns his own fashion label in London.

Lisa Hamblett, Fashion Team Leader, said: ‘This is a unique opportunity for them, it is rare for one student to be accepted; three is an absolutely amazing achievement.

‘Approximately 24 places are available on the course which gets over 1000 applicants, so you can see what an achievement it is for these three students to represent Mid Cheshire College and the North of England.’

‘Mid Cheshire has been successful in placing fashion students at this prestigious college for many consecutive years now,’Lisa added.
