Are you interested in art but don’t know where to start? Not only can it be expensive, but finding the right piece for your home can be daunting in an industry of art dealers and auctions, but don’t worry – there's an easier way to find art you’ll love without the stress.

We catch up with art expert Clare Farnell, owner of The Original Art Room in Cheshire, who reveals the secret to finding your perfect piece that won’t break the bank.

Below, she shares four benefits of purchasing artwork from The Original Art Room.

1. It’s more affordable than buying through a gallery

“Buying art can be an expensive ordeal, but it doesn’t have to be,” says Clare. “Art is accessible to anyone wanting to add some colour to the walls of their home, no matter their budget.”

“We’re fortunate to have an online business, so we don’t have to pay the overhead fees that a gallery would. This means we can offer artwork at a much lower price than anywhere else, without compromising on the quality.”

The Original Art Room has a variety of fantastic pieces available to match a range of different budgets, so don’t worry if you’re not looking to spend much – there’s something for everyone. "We have some stunning pieces depicting natural beauty from coastlines to parks and poppy fields, which would make the perfect addition to any wall at home."

2. High-quality paintings

“You really don’t need to have any knowledge of art to buy a piece for your home,” Clare explains. “This is what we’re here for – I have been involved in fine art my entire life and have plenty of knowledge from my family fine art business. I want to use my background and experience to help people find the perfect piece to suit their taste and style,” she tells us.

“Buying artwork doesn’t need to be a stressful and complicated process – we want to make it as simple and enjoyable as possible for our clients, advising them on styles, designs and different artists.”

From Harold Riley to Geoffrey Key, The Original Art Room offers a range of great quality oil and watercolour pieces from a variety of renowned artists. “We’re more than happy to talk to you on the phone or via email about any paintings you’re interested in to help you pick the right piece,” says Clare.

3. It’s a sensible investment

“No matter what the price, art is undoubtedly a real investment,” Clare tells us. “The value of many things like a handbag or a pair of shoes will unfortunately depreciate, but a piece of art won’t.

“Paintings add a certain flavour and unique sense of style to your home, whilst retaining their original value, and perhaps even increasing over time. So, whether you’re wanting to buy a piece for yourself or even a friend or loved one as a gift, you can be assured that it won’t be a waste, and the painting will hold its value until it’s ready to be sold again.”

James Downie's signed painting of a Manchester United vs Manchester City match or Mal Burton's 'Match Day Road Closure' would make wonderful, affordable gift for a friend who's a football fan,

4. The paintings arrive framed and professionally mounted

Clare explains that when you purchase a piece of art from a gallery, you are then faced with the added expense of framing the piece, followed by the task of mounting it. “It’s not ready to be hung straight away, and not only is it more money on top of the price you paid, but mounting a painting needs to be done properly by a professional, otherwise you’ll risk damaging the art.”

The Original Art Room pre-frames and professionally mounts all their work before it is sold, so you don’t need to pay extra or worry about the hassle of mounting the piece. “It’s all ready to go up on your wall,” Clare says. “This is great for anyone on a budget or those who are new to the art world and wants to put it straight on the wall to enjoy without the stress.”
