With Porthleven Food Festival over for another year, people living in and around the village can now look ahead to another new addition to the local food scene.
Popular St Ives restaurant TALAY Thai Kitchen has announced that it will be expanding into Porthleven. The owners confirmed that the St Ives site will remain open.
Although details are limited, a reel shared on Instagram shows what is believed to be the new base for the restaurant inside the China Clay Store building - the former home of Cantina, which closed at the end of last year. The building also previously housed a Rick Stein restaurant.
In the post, a spokesperson for TALAY Thai Kitchen said: “St Ives and now Porthleven. Talay Thai is growing and making the move. Same unreal Thai flavours, new postcode. Opening soon.”
Excited commenters added: “Can’t wait for the Porthleven restaurant to open,” and “Going to be coming back for so many weekends at yours this summer.”
On TripAdvisor, TALAY Thai Kitchen currently holds a 4.3 rating, with 637 reviewers rating it as excellent.
