A new European restaurant inspired by the flavours of the Basque-region is to open soon.
Lardon, located in the heart of the Cotswolds at Elkstone Studios, is the latest venture from the team behind KNEAD Bakery, which first opened in Cirencester in 2020 and has since expanded to four additional locations.
The restaurant promises a menu of European-inspired small plates and will cater to guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Head chef Mikey Bain, who has previously worked at Calcot Manor and Whatley Manor, will lead the kitchen, while Josh Newman, formerly of Cheltenham’s No. 38 The Park, will oversee front of house.
The Basque-inspired venue will also feature an outdoor terrace and bar, designed for al-fresco dining and summer drinks.
The founders, John and David Hawes and Kis Briggs from Cirencester’s Jesse Smith Butchers, shared their vision for the new restaurant.
In a video posted on Instagram, they said: "Think San Sebastian, south of France, Tuscany, the Algarve.
"European small plates restaurant in the Cotswolds.
"A really community-focused place where people can come and just have a really good time together."
The restaurant has already gained nearly 400 followers on Instagram, with many expressing excitement about the opening.
One social media user commented: "I can't wait to visit," while another said they were "hugely excited."
Lardon is set to open in June.
