The first headline act has already been announced for next year’s Wychwood Festival.

Wychwood Festival, held at Cheltenham Racecourse, has confirmed that The Human League will headline the Saturday night in 2027.

The 1980s synth-pop group will take to the stage on June 5.

20th edition of Wychwood Festival

Graeme Merifield, festival founder, said: "Seeing the 20th edition of Wychwood Festival take place feels surreal.

"When we started this in 2005, I never imagined it would endure and evolve into the festival it is today.

"We’re all so thrilled to share our first big headline act for 2027 already, which added even more excitement to an already action-packed weekend.

"Looking forward to making more sunny memories here at Cheltenham Racecourse again, as we’ll be together in electric dreams with The Human League next summer."

The Human League

The band, known for the hit Don’t You Want Me, have released nine studio albums over a career spanning more than 45 years.

Their announcement was made in dramatic fashion during this year’s festival when a plane flew over the site with a banner reading: “Don’t You Want Me Baby! See you in 2027?”

Wychwood’s 2026 event marked the festival’s 20th anniversary and its first Thursday opening, running from May 28 to 31.

Wychwood Festival headliners

Headline acts included Sophie Ellis Bextor, Kaiser Chiefs, and Levellers, with performances from Feeder, Maximo Park, Newton Faulkner, Pigeon Detectives, The Twang, and more.

Fans have already expressed their excitement for 2027, with one calling it “what an announcement” and another saying they “can’t wait.”

Tickets for Wychwood Festival 2027 are now on sale.

Weekend passes start at £134.50 excluding camping.

Wychwood Festival will return to Cheltenham Racecourse from June 4 to 6, 2027.
