Sensory Elite Healthcare limited based in Derbyshire are working with the charity SSAFA
Sensory Elite HealthCare Ltd has been fortunate enough to work alongside the charity Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) for the past year, carrying out specialist equipment assessments on their behalf across Derby and Derbyshire.
SSAFA has been serving the Armed Forces community for 130 years and is committed to ensuring our servicemen and women, veterans and their families get the best possible support when they need it. SSAFA works in partnership with other military charities and specialist organisations to ensure those who turn to them for help get the support they need.
Our role includes the provision of occupational therapy (OT) assessments on behalf of SSAFA to review the suitability of specialist items of equipment from electric riser recliner chairs to mobility scooters or wheelchairs, with specialist reports and recommendations being made to help identify the right solutions for individuals asking for help from the charity.
The occupational therapist at Sensory Elite HealthCare Ltd provides occupational therapy services to SSAFA as well as other charities and non profit organisations, to provide treatment and advice to people that have been unable to have their needs met by Social Services or are unable to wait for an assessment.
Our occupational therapist responds quickly to help people remain living in their own home as independently as possible. We can complete an initial assessment and provide advice and solutions regarding equipment, aids and adaptations. A detailed report can be produced and the occupational therapist can provide details of the aids and adaptations needed, and provide suppliers and prices in order to provide a quick, smooth service.
Functional Assessments and Rehabilitation
If your client is finding difficulty with everyday activities following an injury or illness, they may need occupational therapy input to help them regain their independence and improve their quality of life. We are able to provide an assessment for them, offer advice and devise a personalised rehabilitation programme.
Equipment / Adaptations
We are able to complete and assess your client in their home environment and prescribe and fit any pieces of equipment to promote their independence within their home and make everyday tasks easier. Assessment and advice can also be given with regards to more major adaptations e.g. stair lifts, level access showers, through floor lifts, ramps etc.
