Businesswomen from across the region today had an opportunity to appeal for public support for a national award

The Devon Venus Awards 2015 Face the Camera event, held at the Heart FM offices, gave applicants in two public vote categories the opportunity to record a short video appealing to the public for their support.

The awards aim to celebrate and recognise the achievements of the county’s working women and entrepreneurs.

Nominees for Employee of the Year, sponsored by The Exeter Daily, and Business Mother of the Year sponsored by Heart FM, explained why their achievements and accolades in business should see them voted through to the final.

Alexis Bowater, Regional Partner for Devon Venus Awards, said: “It was great to meet some of the nominees at this morning’s event.

“They had a great chance to appeal to the public and really got to show why they deserve to be in the final. The event enabled everyone to celebrate their achievements and nominees should be proud that they have become semi-finalists.”

The videos will be made available to view online and the public will have the chance to vote on who they would like to see in the final. The public vote opens on 15th September 2015.
