Discover the season’s brightest interiors trend... crafted right here in Tonbridge
With the seasonal shift bringing shorter days, light emerges as our most precious design element. As we seek warmth, comfort and a sense of sanctuary, Heathfield & Co has introduced the ultimate seasonal collection: Cinder.
Spanning three designs across ceiling, wall and table lighting, the Cinder collection has been created at Heathfield & Co’s workshop in Tonbridge with every piece crafted and handmade, elevating the brand’s repertoire further. We catch up with Lily Watson, head of brand and marketing, who reveals how glass innovation is taking centre stage as ‘jewellery for the home’ for AW26.
She also shares her favourite design, and her essential tips for mastering autumn lighting.

Tell us about the new AW26 collection?
With our AW collection we really wanted to push what we could do with glass. Every piece introduces something new – a new process, a new finish, a new colourway. There’s mould-blown, rippled and layered glass detailing running through it that gives every piece a sculptural, gem-like quality – a bit of a nod to Art Deco, but softer and more tactile. Every single piece is handmade, so no two are the same, and that’s exactly the point.
What are the stand-out pieces, materials, colours and shapes?
Darla is probably our most technically ambitious piece to date. It’s got this molten, lava-like layer of glass that’s formed by hand in two stages, which we’ve never attempted before.
Wren has a beautiful rippled glass base cast in a wooden mould that’s burned out during the process, so the texture is completely unique to each lamp.
We’ve also introduced a new brushed metal finish across the collection, which brings real warmth against the glass.

Any particular favourite designs?
I have a real soft spot for the Wren table lamp. It’s modelled on one of those vintage perfume bottles, so there’s a real sense of elegance and glamour about it. The rippling means every single one is a little different – it’s the kind of piece that feels handmade the moment you touch it.
The inspiration behind the designs?
The name Cinder comes from the fire-formed glass processes we’ve used throughout – that idea of glowing fragments left behind once the flames die down. We wanted the collection to feel layered and light-catching – almost like jewellery for the home.
Why is lighting so important?
Lighting sets the whole mood of a room – it’s the difference between a space feeling flat and feeling alive.
Particularly as we move into autumn – lighting creates a warm, inviting glow that softens the edges and makes a space feel like home..

Lily’s 5 tips for transitioning to the autumn season with the right lighting
Layer it properly. Don’t rely on one central pendant – bring in a pair of accent wall lights, a few table lamps for a soft glow, and a floor lamp to brighten dark corners or your favourite reading spot. Each layer should ideally sit on its own dimmer, so you can adjust the mood room by room.
Lean into natural materials. Wood, marble and textured glass all add warmth and depth as the light outside starts to fade – it’s part of why we love working with glass so much in Cinder.
Refresh your lampshades. Swapping lighter shades for richer, warmer tones is a simple way to make a room feel instantly cosier for the colder months.
Get your bulb temperature right. Stick to warm bulbs around 2,700K, and keep it consistent across every fitting in the room – mixing temperatures makes a space feel unbalanced rather than cosy.
Don’t skip the dimmer. It’s the easiest way to shift a room from bright and practical during the day to warm and intimate in the evening.
