A Butterfly Ball was held to raise funds to enhance care for people living with dementia on the Fylde coast.

The ball, which was organised by Francesca Hall, an award-winning nurse from Blackpool Victoria Hospital, and Shelley Cooper, a strategy and business development administrator for the Trust, was held at The Hilton Hotel in Blackpool.

All of the proceeds raised will go towards the ‘Peace of Mind’ dementia appeal, led by the Blue Skies Hospitals Fund. Among the guests at the ball was Barbara Hodgkinson, who created the national Butterfly Scheme to use the insects as a symbol to sensitively identify patients with dementia.

Francesca and Shelley said: ‘Our sincere thanks to everyone who supported the event either by attending and donating generously on the night or by supporting through sponsorship and donations of raffle prizes.’
