A black tie charity ball was held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Southport, in aid of raising money for the North West Regional Spinal Injury Centre.

Sponsored by Fletchers solicitors, more than 100 guests attended the event, which raised over £11,000 for the centre based at Southport hospital which provides care, treatment and rehabilitation to those who have suffered a spinal cord injury.

The money will buy much-needed equipment for the centre to help integrate patients into wheelchair sports. Ed Fletcher, CEO of Fletchers, said: ‘It was a fantastic night for a very worthwhile cause. Having severed my spinal cord in a motorbike accident over ten years ago and received treatment at the spinal unit, it is a cause very close to my heart.’
