A 21-year-old has risen through the ranks to become the head chef at a Norfolk restaurant and he is definitely one to watch.

Harry Williams, from Langham, is the newly-appointed head chef at No.Twenty9 Bar & Restaurant in Burnham Market, which also boasts nine boutique bedrooms.

He joined the team as an apprentice four-and-half years ago and he has worked his way up to become the right-hand man to executive chef Julian Falconer, who he describes as his "mentor".

During that period he left for around eight months to work at The Stiffkey Red Lion under Liam Goldstone, returning to No.Twenty9 in summer 2023 as sous chef.

Mr Williams said: "There is a lack of young chefs in the industry and I think I have got to this position as I work really hard and love what I do.

"It is a big role for a 21-year-old to take on and there is a lot of pressure involved, but the team here are amazing.

"Everyone is so proud - my older brother Aaron is also a chef and he was a big inspiration for me."

Speaking about his long-term goals, he added: "One day I want to open my own restaurant somewhere on the coast."

A spokesperson for No.Twenty9 said: "Harry has risen through every rank to be second-in-command under the mentorship of Julian Falconer - our extremely talented executive chef who was previously our head chef.

"As in the words of Harry himself ‘I’ve got some big boots to fill’, but for someone who has risen from an apprentice to the position of head chef in just four-and-a-half years, responsible for the whole kitchen team in Julian’s absence, he has shown maturity and dedication way beyond his years."
