A North Somerset theatre has celebrated a sell-out opening at its historic new home.
The Theatre Shop welcomed its first audiences to Market Hall in Alexandra Road, Clevedon, on September 29.
The opening featured the premiere of Living Spit’s new production, The Tragedy of Omlet, Prince of Hen-mark.

The Theatre Shop said: “We’re so grateful to all our fantastic volunteers for such a smooth running opening night, and of course everyone who bought a ticket and came along.”
The opening performance sold out, as did the remainder of the production’s run.
The Theatre Shop thanked its supporters and encouraged people to explore its programme of children’s shows, festive productions and music.
Omlet reimagines Shakespeare’s Hamlet with an egg taking the title role alongside vegetables and other foodstuffs.
Created by Stu McLoughlin and Living Spit, the production combines live music, puppetry and food-related jokes.
The Theatre Shop announced in August that it would move into Market Hall as part of plans led by Clevedon Pier and Heritage Trust.
The Trust acquired the historic building after funding the purchase through the sale of Waterloo House, which it had owned since 1997.
It said Market Hall would create opportunities for exhibitions, arts, culture, learning and community activities.
Market Hall and Clevedon Pier were both designed by Victorian architect Hans Price.
The Theatre Shop was established in 2015 as an 86-seat venue inside a disused shop in Queen’s Square.
It left the premises in May 2026 and thanked volunteers and supporters who helped move and store its equipment.
The former unit is now set to become Clevedon’s new banking hub.
Upcoming productions at Market Hall include Playtime, My, My, My, Delilah!, Santa and Snowball, A Christmas Carol and Living Spit’s festive quiz show.
