Northbrook College students raise £1500 in charity Masterchef

Now in its second year, ‘Cooking for Starrs’, a fantastic dining experience held this June, raised £1500 for local charity the Starr Trust.

This sold out event saw student chefs Zoe Guile and Tyler Edwards go head-to-head in a competition to create a fabulous 6-course menu where diners vote on the winning dishes. They showcased their talents and wowed patrons with some culinary magic. With the help of head chef Russell Williams from Bailiffscourt Hotel and the College Tutors, these young chefs created an impressive menu with exquisitely presented food, all served in the Arundel restaurant on campus.

Guests were greeted with a glass of champagne courtesy of event sponsor the Hilton Brighton Metropole, and the front of house teams led by Lois and Connor worked hard to ensure that guests had an unforgettable experience and even created a Wine Flight to accompany the food.

Tracey Narvaez from The Starr Trust said: “The event made £1500 and we’re so grateful to Sascha Koehler and Brighton Hilton Metropole for their sponsorship and the hard working tutors of Northbrook College who put in extra hours to run this evening. Both teams did really well but it was Zoe Guile and her Red team that won, having created an exceptional menu.”
