The name Serious Sandwich could not be more fitting for a shop/café whose owner Deesha Chisnall takes the business of providing enticing and nutritious food for Chichester folk very seriously indeed.

“My passion for food is deep-rooted, having grown up in my father’s hotel where quality food and good service were instilled from an early age,” says Deesha. With her extensive experience gained from working in restaurants, pubs and cafés most of her adult life, Deesha has created a varied and seasonal menu at Serious Sandwich reflecting her strong-held philosophy: “healthy body equals healthy mind.”

As a food allergy sufferer, Deesha is also acutely aware of the increasing demand for gluten-free, dairy free and vegan options and offers all of these alongside the colourful line up of sandwiches, soups and salads on the menu. “We make everything fresh and to order on the premises, even our soups are gluten and dairy free. My mission is not just simply to provide people with healthy natural no-fuss food, but to show them that their food choices.”

The café which has just undergone a fresh new interiors revamp recently won a gold award (Eat Well for the Sussex Partnership Scheme). Now Deesha’s aim for 2015 is to go for Platinum.
