More than 200 Ashville College parents, teachers and old pupils gathered at Harrogate’s Crown Hotel for the Friends of Ashville Mistletoe Ball. The event – which raised a record breaking �13,500 - featured a Champagne reception, vodka luge, three course dinner, auction, live band and a disco. One of the star items under the hammer was provided by former head boy, the actor Jim Carter, who donated a Downton Abbey poster signed by all the cast including, Dame Maggie Smith and Hugh Bonneville. In addition to raising funds for the school, proceeds from the ball are going to benefit two good causes, Chrissy's Quest and Being Bel, who are both Harrogate children.
