Rachel Carter, a solicitor from south Devon law firm Wollen Michelmore, has been nominated for the Jordan’s Publishing Family Law Awards in the category of Associate Solicitor for the second year running.

As well as being nominated for the award in 2013, Rachel was also nominated for the 2013 Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year and she won the Herald Express newspaper 2013 Women of Achievement award.

Rachel’s work defending parents wrongly accused of harming their children is being widely recognised and, as well as gaining the firm a reputation on the national stage, she is helping families in desperate need.

In 2012 Rachel set up the Parents Accused website to gather together information for parents to help them understand and present their cases. Through this website she has had people from all over the UK contacting her for help.

Rachel said: “It is a great honour to be nominated for this award, particularly for the second year running. We have had a very rewarding year reuniting parents who have been wrongly accused of the abuse of their children.”
