A team of renowned chefs from top rated West Sussex restaurants joined their culinary expertise at an exclusive Chefology Evening for local charity Dementia Support
A team of renowned chefs from top rated West Sussex restaurants, including Giles Thompson at The Earl of March, Sam Mahoney at Field & Fork, Andy Stephenson at Halliday’s and Mark Robinson at The Horse Guards Inn joined their culinary expertise at an exclusive Chefology Evening for local charity Dementia Support, hosted by a leading local cookery writer Rosemary Moon.
The Chefology party took place in a stunning marquee setting, with the four distinguished chefs providing a gastronomic four courses, a feast of seasonal produce, with Mason and Mason Wines pairing exclusive wines with the menu.
Rosemary Moon commented: “It was fabulous that Giles Thompson at The Earl of March, Sam Mahoney at Field & Fork, Andy Stephenson at Halliday’s and Mark Robinson at The Horse Guards Inn came together to create such a memorable meal in aid of Dementia Support. These chefs have truly shown that West Sussex offers superb cuisine created from wonderful local produce in their restaurants. The Chefology evening was a showcase for our ingredients and our chefs who all said Yes immediately they were asked to give their skills in support of this excellent and much needed local charity. It has been a delicious privilege to work with the Team on this event.”
At the event the Dementia Support Trustees officially launched a new unique centre, The Dementia Hub, which is being created to truly enhance the wellbeing and quality of life for people living with dementia, their families, friends and carers.
Dementia Support is a local charity working in partnership the NHS, West Sussex County Council, statutory organisations, with voluntary and charitable organisations from within the community, to build a centre of excellence for people living with dementia. The charity is currently raising funds to build a fit for purpose dementia Hub with an accessible Memory Assessment Unit, dementia-friendly garden, a dementia-specific technology suite, community café and dementia-friendly therapeutic rooms as well as offering a befriender service, day care and much-needed respite for carers.
