The station appeared in the Heartbeat and All Creatures Great and Small, but perhaps more significantly its appearance as Hogsmeade, a Hogwarts Express stop in the Harry Potter film series, has turned it into a pilgrimage site for fans.
The surrounding moor with its sprawling expanses of purple heather and roaming sheep make it a popular destination for walkers and photographers looking to enjoy the beauty of the Yorkshire countryside.
