Time is running out before the shutters come down on this year’s search for the county’s best amateur photographer. We have had hundreds of entries to our annual competition but there is still time to send in your favourite shots of the county – our panel of judges will start their deliberations on Friday September 19.

They will sift through all the pictures sent in by that date and choose a shortlist of 12 photos which will be considered for use in the 2015 Cheshire Life calendar. They will then choose a top three who will win brilliant prizes, selected by competition sponsors Wilkinson’s Cameras.

The first prize winner will receive a Canon EOS 100D and EF-S 18-55 IS STM worth £479.99, second prize is a Canon Powershot S120 worth £399.99 and if your picture comes in third place you’ll win a Canon Powershot SX 510 worth £219.99 (all prices correct as of March 2014).

Cheshire Life picture editor John Cocks and David Parkinson from Wilkinson’s Cameras will be on the judging panel along with editor Louise Allen-Taylor.

And if you’ve not submitted your best pictures yet, don’t delay, do it today. And don’t forget the two rules: the competition is not open to professional photographers and pictures must be taken in Cheshire, Manchester or North Wales. n
