Basil the Bug & Friends

18 and 19 July, 10am-4pm

Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway has organised a special weekend for youngsters to ride on ‘The Bug’ steam locomotive, stopping at the Romney Warren Halt serving Kent Wildlife Trust’s Visitor Centre and nature reserve, where they will be running a range of activities.

Wildlife Holiday Fun

Take part in pond dipping, wildlife games, arts and crafts for all ages.

Explore the rocky shore, hunt for marine creatures and discover how they have adapted to this extreme environment.

Sevenoaks Holiday Fun

Exciting wildlife-inspired activities throughout the summer, from pond dipping, arts and crafts to ‘Stick Man’ Day.

Explore the chalk reef and rocky shore of the Lower Leas Coastal Park

Sevenoaks Festival of Wildlife

15 and 16 August, 10am-4pm

Don’t miss the only free annual event in the country to celebrate the wonderful world of wildlife. Sevenoaks Visitor Centre & Wildlife Reserve, 01732 456407, is the perfect setting with beautiful woodlands, gardens and lakeside features. Guided nature walks, bug hunting, live music, local arts, crafts, food and drink stalls.

Ample parking at £3 per car. Close to A25 and M26 with railway stations at Sevenoaks & Bat and Ball within walking distance.

Folkestone Feeding Frenzy

26 August, 2pm

A gentle walk around the Lower Leas Coastal Park. Make a garden bird feeder and learn which foods different birds like to eat.

Guided Coastal Walk at Reculver

27 August, 2-4pm

Walk along the rocky shore to Bishopstone Glen and learn about the marine wildlife and heritage of this remarkable area. Then walk back along the clifftop grasslands, enjoy the views and history of the Country Park.
