So you think you know your wildlife? The range of study days on offer by Kent Wildlife Trust will challenge and delight even the most experienced wildlife enthusiasts

Do you know the difference between a lady orchid and a man orchid or a marsh harrier and a hen harrier? And how do you tell a grasshopper from a cricket?

Kent Wildlife Trust can take you on a voyage of discovery with its comprehensive series of Wildlife Study Days for 2015.

The 43 wide-ranging courses are designed to help the people of Kent appreciate and find out more about the wonderful wildlife that surrounds them.

From budding botanists to keen bird watchers, the Trust has just the course for you. We aim to create a relaxed, informal, atmosphere in which everyone can progress at their own pace while enjoying the company of like-minded people.

Beginners are very welcome and those with some experience will be able to improve their knowledge and identification techniques. New courses for this year include Geology and Development of Romney Marsh, Sea Life Ancient and Modern, Woodland Plants, Shield Bugs and Reptile Ecology and Survey Techniques.

Our study day programme has been developed over 18 years and in that time it has covered a growing number of subjects and attracted more than 6,500 participants.

Courses, which are led by experts in their fields, are usually limited to 15 participants to allow for sufficient individual attention and held ‘in the field’ – often on local nature reserves. For your convenience, they mainly take place at weekends, starting at 10am and ending by 4pm.

Course fees are very affordable at usually £26 per day, and just £21 for senior citizens, students, the unemployed and those who volunteer for Kent Wildlife Trust.

However, our short and weekend courses have varying fees. If you wish to book through your employer, then a corporate rate of £47 per day will apply. Details of the full programme can be found at www.kentwildlifetrust.org.uk (follow the ‘Wat’s On’ link) or request a leaflet by email at info@kentwildlife.org.uk or call 01622 662012 n
