Meet Len, stranded in middle age . . .

After their recent hit touring productions of The Tinder Box, Mary Shelley and The Curse of Frankenstein and Stuff in the Attic, Common Ground Theatre are about to tour with Stranded, a comedy by Pat Whymark.

Len Harris is an out of work divorcee who spends his time playing the horses and learning salsa. His world is thrown into turmoil with the arrival of his estranged daughter, Delia, named after her mother’s favourite TV chef. Delia, now homeless after the sudden death of her mum, wants to move in with her dad, Len. He’s determined to remain alone.

Stranded looks at entitlement, aspiration, and how the attitudes and opinions of our elders can form the basis of our sense of self worth.

The small, but perfectly formed cast, comprises Lorna Garside, Julian Harries and Alice Mottram, and you can catch them at Ufford Church Hall (July 9, tickets 07928 765153), Sir John Mills Theatre, Ipswich (July 10 and 11, tickets 01473 211498), The Thatchers Arms, Mount Bures (July 14, 8pm, tickets 01787 227460, all tickets £10), Jubilee Hall, Aldeburgh (July 15, tickets 07928 765153), St Mary’s Church Hall, Walton July 17, tickets 07928 765153
