A new record of attendance was set at this year’s Westmorland Show

Over 35,000 people flocked to Cumbria’s biggest agricultural show of the year, the Westmorland Show. It was the highest attendance record ever for the one-day event, which featured agricultural exhibitions including show-cattle, sheep, horses, goats, pigs, alpacas, dogs and poultry. There was also a variety of attractions including a food hall, craft and trade stands and new for this year, meerkats from the Lake District Wildlife Park.

The Westmorland County Agricultural Society said: ‘A huge thank you to everyone who visited the showground and helped to make the event so successful. We also want to say a massive thank you to the exhibitors, both livestock and trade, demonstrators and contractors, along with the hundreds of judges and volunteer stewards who were such a vital part of this magnificent annual event.’
