The weather was far from kind to the Lancashire Game and Country Festival but that didn’t stop a weekend of fun and games for country lovers.

There was a packed programme of displays at the Scorton venue involving hound and gundogs, clay pigeon shooting, ferret and terrier racing and fishing demonstrations. For those who stayed under canvas there were a wide range of stands selling countryside crafts, artisan food stalls and game cooking demonstrations from the team at the Cartford Inn.

The organisers are already planning for next year’s show, expected on September 8 and 9, when they’ll be hoping for a little more sunshine.
