Students and some of their teachers from Ormskirk School took to the catwalk as part of a show called Blossom and Shine, which was written and directed by mentor Hayley Coggins as a way of boosting pupils’ self-esteem and raising money for charity.

Hayley said: ‘This special evening demonstrated all that Shine embraces - individuality, self-expression, creativity and confidence. The purpose of the fashion show was to help boost confidence and self-esteem in young people, to raise awareness of positive body image, to provide a creative opportunity for young people to work together and to raise funds for Derian House Childrens’ Hospice.’

The show, which also included song and dance, attracted backing from a wide range of business as well as Rebecca Forshaw, freelance hair and make-up artist, along with students from West Lancashire College.
