A charity competition and dinner at Fairhaven Golf Club, Lytham, raised more than £12,000 for Trinity Hospice and its specialist children’s unit, Brian House. During the day, 26 teams of four took part and 120 guests later attended a dinner.

Entertainment featured a ‘Question Time’ session with former footballers Alex Stepney, Trevor Cherry, Lee Sharpe and Duncan McKenzie. Lisa Martin from Trinity Hospice also spoke about the work of Brian House and the support of the community. Golf captains John Smith and Carole Schofield thanked everyone who gave their time and money.
