Liverpool FC has a long-established Former Players’ Association devoted to raising money for many good causes in the area.
The association, under the chairmanship of former striker John Aldridge, staged one of its most recent events, an annual golfing day, at the Hillside Golf Club in Formby.
Among the most recent donations was a Variety Sunshine Coach to Sandfield School, which provides education for in-patients at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool.
