The Mall Blackburn formerly named Blackburn Shopping Centre is a shopping centre situated at the heart of Blackburn town centre with over 600,000 sq ft of retail space and over 100 retailers including Debenhams, BHS, Boots, Primark and Next and many more high street brands as well as a number of independent retailers.
In September 2004, The Mall Corporation purchased the shopping centre and in 2008 the £66 million redevelopment programme began. Demolition took place on Church Street and Lord Square including the old T J Hughes building.
As with many others ‘The Mall’ shopping centres The Mall Blackburn underwent a ‘monster’ development modernisation project which included TV screens, ‘Ask Me’ points and other enhanced information is already provided in brand new areas such as a Primark and WHSmiths which was built and opened on 26 July 2010. As well as the modernisation of the shopping centre, The Mall Company introduced a’spend me’ cards which are now known as Mall Gift Cards and are available to purchase at the Ask Me Point, online or click and collect.

Lancashire has got style!
We are launching a month long ALL AGES model search with a difference, to celebrate the Blackburn Heritage Festival taking place in September.
Starting on Saturday 5th July and running each weekend until 27th July, we are looking for people of ALL ages to represent every decade from the 1940s until present day.
The winners will hit the catwalk in a special fashion show that will feature retailers’ Autumn / Winter ranges on Saturday 13th September.
You can enter by going to the Ask Me Point in Victoria Court on each Saturday and Sunday in July, fill in a simple form and get your picture taken!
Talent scouts will also be in The Mall on the selected days, asking people if they would like to participate.
We will be selecting 28 finalists from all entries, which will be loaded onto the The Mall’s website from Monday 28th July when the public can vote for their favourite.
One model from each decade will win a £150 Mall Gift card and be a star and VIP for the day at the event on Saturday 13th September, which will also include a celebrity appearance.
