MORE than 60 glamorous ladies gathered at the Inn on the Lake in Ullswater for their Royal Ascot Ladies’ Race Day event.
Held for the third year, guests at the charity afternoon enjoyed a champagne recepton with canapés on arrival in the Orangery, followed by a three course meal in the two AA Rossette Lake View restaurant.
There was a live television transmission from Ascot and local singer Glen Anderson entertained in between races.
A raffle and donations raised £1,760 for the hotel’s chosen charity of the year, Amy’s Care, a family run community interest company which provides social clubs for older adults, day care specialising in dementia and dementia holidays.
