A charity ball to raise money in memory of Heather Clark who was diagnosed with incurable ovarian cancer, raised £20,000, double the amount expected, for the charity Ovacome.

Heather, born with thalidomide, overcame many challenges to work as a researcher and producer at Yorkshire Television for more than 25 years.

Heather was organising the ball to help other women up until her death in June this year. Ovacome provides vital support for all women with ovarian cancer, and their loved ones. All the money raised from Heather’s Ball, attended by 300 people at the Marriott Hotel, Leeds, will be used to hold support groups around Yorkshire for women with ovarian cancer and their families.
