Rosemere Cancer Foundation and Heartbeat will benefit from fundraiser

Well-known names from the UK’s culinary scene joined 320 guests for a fitting tribute to Lancashire’s legendary poultry farmer, Reg Johnson, the man who developed Goosnargh duck and chicken – a favourite ingredient in many of the country’s top kitchens.

The five course dinner, held at Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park ground, was organised by Reg’s daughter Kara Johnson and family friend Norma Scott, with help from Nigel Haworth, now an ambassador for Northcote.

Together with its raffle and auction, the event raised £20,000 for the Reg Johnson Foundation and this will be equally split between Rosemere Cancer Foundation and Heartbeat.
