The Sutty’s Shooting Stars charity ball celebrated its tenth year at Barton Grange Hotel, Preston. The ball, which is in aid of the charity set up by Carl Sutton’s family after the 23-year-old died in an accident, successfully raised £8,500 via an auction and raffle.

It is the largest amount raised at any of their charity events and the money will help future projects within the charity and the Carl Sutton Academy, which gives young children a safe and fun introduction into junior football.

Ray and Cath Sutton, parents of Carl, said: ‘We have a lot of support from our family, friends and supporters but special thanks goes to all at Barton Grange Hotel, Amey Construction, Lee Holmes, Jason Shaw and Gary Whittle.’
