The Gurnard’s Head’s is hosting a very cosy Poetry Around the Fire event next month with Katrina Naomi and Angela Stoner

Head to The Gurnard’s Head on Saturday, 9th February and find yourself a toasty spot by the fire. Between 4pm - 5.30pm Katrina Naomi and Angela Stoner will be reading poetry and we think it’s a lovely way to fill a Saturday afternoon. Best of all the event is completely free to attend.

Katrina Naomi’s latest collection is The Way the Crocodile Taught Me (Seren, 2016). Verve Poetry Press are publishing Typhoon Etiquette in April 2019, a pamphlet of poems from her recent trip to Japan. Katrina’s next Seren collection is due in 2020. Her work has been featured on BBC Radio 4’s Front Row and Poetry Please, and the BBC recently commissioned her to write a poem for National Poetry Day.

Angela Stoner is an experienced teacher, storyteller and writer. She has been running creative writing workshops, courses and retreats since moving to Cornwall in 1998. Her work appears regularly in literary magazines and her two published books Once in a Blue Moon, (Fal publications, 2005) poetry Weight and Flight (Oversteps books 2010) reflect her interest in the transformative power of storytelling. In 2012, She won the Poetry Society’s Stanza Award and the first ever Poetry Out Loud competition held in Cornwall.
