The Royal Lancashire Show made a welcome return after being scrapped following a run of appalling weather over several years.
This year, the show was hailed a success with many thousands heading to the showground at Salesbury Hall just outside Ribchester. Emma Walton, the marketing director, said: ‘The support that we have had from the public has been absolutely tremendous. We are overwhelmed with it, to be honest.’
Volunteers and sponsors were also praised for their support. The organisers were expected to discuss the success of the revival and whether the show should go on in 2016.
