A charity gala dinner at Ribby Hall, Wrea Green, was held in aid of The Space Centre, a multi-sensory centre in Preston.

The centre supports individuals of all ages who have to cope with learning, physical and emotional challenges. Attended

by over 350 people, the evening raised £45,000 with an auction hosted by organiser Pete Marquis.

Entertainment was provided by The Hooper Band, DJ Darrell Edwards and a strolling magician, Derek Gustard.

David Diggins, a trustee of the Friends of Space, said: ‘The evening was a great success, everyone enjoyed themselves dancing the night away and the support for the Space Centre was truly amazing, our thanks go to all who attended.’
